To send Google Analytics events using Google Tag Manager, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Google Tag Manager account and select the container where you want to setup the event tracking.
- Click on "Tags" in the left sidebar and then click on "New Tag".
- Choose "Tag Configuration" and select "Google Analytics: Universal Analytics".
- Select "Event" as the Track Type.
- Fill out the Category, Action, Label, and Value fields for the event you want to track. These are the parameters that will be sent with the event to Google Analytics.
- In the "Google Analytics Settings" field, choose the variable that contains your Google Analytics tracking ID.
- Set up the triggering for the tag. This will determine when the event is sent to Google Analytics. You can use built-in triggers like Click, Form Submission, or Custom Events, or create your own custom trigger.
- Save the tag and publish the changes to your container.
- Test the event tracking by triggering the event on your website and checking if it is being recorded in Google Analytics. You can use the Real-Time reports in Google Analytics to verify that the events are being sent correctly.
By following these steps, you can easily send Google Analytics events with Google Tag Manager and track specific actions on your website.
